WebJul 13, 2024 · We hear a hiss sound everytime the brake pedal is depressed and released. The brakes are working fine. There are no visible signs of leakage. Got the brake job done about 1 1/2 year ago. One of the threads mentioned that it could be a vacuum booster issue. Would appreciate any help advice on any DIY replacement/repair to fix the problem. WebMar 8, 2010 · You say there's hissing and then resistance comes back in the pedal upon release, it's very possible you either have air in your lines, or enough water or steam to interfer with the job of the brake fluid.
