WebJun 5, 2012 · At the Earth's surface, most solid rocks subject to short-term loading behave elastically. When the load on a rock exceeds a certain critical value, the rock fails through the formation of a fracture. Surface rocks thus generally behave as brittle solids. WebIn this study, a numerical model for water inrush caused by collapsed columns that couples mechanical rock deformation with flow in porous media based on a fractal treelike fracture network was developed. In particular, the proposed model considers collapsed columns and mining damage zones as fractal dual-porosity media.

WebFlow analysis plays a major role in various geotechnical applications, and the understanding of flow mechanisms is essential for the development of a hydro-mechanical flow model suitable for underground excavations in rock. Discrete flow analysis through discontinuities is reviewed including empirical and analytical flow models. WebIX Simposio Latinoamericano de Mecánica de Rocas. Asunción-Paraguay.
